Nutrition VS Calories

Well I know that I have not posted here in a while.  The new job is running me wild,  but I just had to expound on this topic again.

Our bodies run on Calories.  With the current type of work that we do do it takes approximately 1500 calories to run the “average” woman’s body, and 2000 calories to run the “average” mans body.  There is a really wide variance on this, but this is the average.  This does not take into account any exercise at all.

Our bodies were designed to run on 4-6000 calories a day.   Back when we were all farmers, or did manual labor for a living we were able to eat this quantity of calories.  This was also when we grew most of our own food, and the nutrient value was so much greater than the food that we get in the grocery today.

What I am trying to say is that we are literally starving ourselves to death from a nutritional standpoint.  We feed ourselves plenty of calories.  There is no doubt about that.  77% of Americans are overweight,  34% of Americans are obese.  The cost to the country is staggering because of this.  The body is designed to take care of itself when give proper nutrition, but we are not doing that.

Fruits and Vegetables are so important to our diet, yet as a whole the American public does not consume near the quantity they should.  Then we put ourselves on diets to lose weight, and further diminish our nutrition.

This is why I feel that the Monavie juice is such an important part of a health and nutritious diet.  I am also so pumped about the RVL weight management product, because it is a 600 calorie program that has the nutritional equivalent of 5000+ calories of food.  When added to a excercise program, and a Moderate evening meal you will lose weight and NOT hurt your body, because it does not have enough nutrients to properly run itself.

RVL has all the Micro, Macro and Phido nutrients that are needed to run your body on a daily basis.  I feel that even folks that done need to loose weight should replace one meal a day with a RVL shake just to increase their nutrition levels.

Ups and Downs

Over the last two month my attention to the RVL program has been less than perfect.  I got to the point of 50 Lbs lost, and then gained back some over the last couple of weeks.  But what I love about this program is that when  you can get back to it the weight comes right back off.

I have been on the road for 9 weeks solid.  I have been to some of the most amazing places, and have eaten at some of the most amazing restaurants.  I have been to Quebec City Canada,  Salt Lake City UT, Denver Colorado,  St. Louis MO,  Minneapolis MN, Fargo ND,  Milwaukee WI,  Chicago IL,  Memphis TN, Indianapolis IN,  Louisville KY,  Phoenix AZ, and Jacksonville FL.  How crazy is that?

Traveling with RVL is easy.  Sticking to it when you have customer lunches and dinners it a bit harder.  But if I can maintain while on the road and lose while I am at home it is a win for me.  I hope all of you that want to lose weight can do as well as I have!

Please call or email me if you have any questions on RVL or Monavie.

Doug Franke RVL Story

Doug Franke is a GREAT friend of mine down in Spring, TX.  He sent me this note and I wanted to share with you all.  So here is his story.

“I sent a txt out about a week ago updating everyone on my progress with RVL.  I felt compelled to send this email out elaborating on that txt & sharing some new information.  For the new distributors, I have been dealing with type 2 diabetes & neuropathy for over 5 years which was what lead to monavie after trying several different products & medications that did not work.  Yesterday (March 7) I received my blood tests which I take every 90-120 days.  The results were the best they have been since being diagnosed.  Since starting  RVL December 15th,  the amount of insulin I take every day has consistently decreased to the point of not requiring a dose since Thursday, February 3.  This is a major victory for a diabetic.  I have lost 28lbs. & 6 inches from my waist simply by following the program.  I have tried many weight loss methods & this by far has been the easiest & most effective.  It pays for itself in meal savings & all one is doing is redirecting some of the money you are already spending on food.  The income that it produces through your business is a bonus.  I have documented this process in detail & will share the information if you want to give me a call.  Use it & lose it with RVL!”

Low Glycemic Index

Healthy Blood Glucose Levels

A recent study conducted by Glycemic Index Laboratories found that MonaVie RVL Nutrition Shake Mix has a Glycemic Index (GI) rating of 25 + 3, which places the product in the “Low GI” category. This indicates that MonaVie RVL Nutrition Shake Mix may help maintain healthy blood glucose levels.

The consumption of low GI foods has been studied as an aide in weight management. Low GI diets have been linked to enhancements in blood sugar maintenance, cardiovascular health, and improvement in overall health. They may also help you feel fuller longer compared to high GI foods.

About the Study
The GI rating of MonaVie RVL Nutrition Shake Mix was determined by testing the glycemic response of 15 healthy adults to 50 grams of “available carbohydrate” of MonaVie RVL Nutrition Shake Mix compared to 50 grams of “available carbohydrate” of white bread. (Available carbohydrate is defined as total carbohydrates minus fiber.)

The participants were tested on four separate occasions. Each time, two fasting blood samples were taken, the test food (RVL Shake Mix or white bread) was consumed, and blood samples were taken again. The blood samples were then used to measure blood glucose and glucose response curves, which were used to calculate the GI rating.

More about the Glycemic Index
The Glycemic Index rating is an important measurement used around the world to help consumers understand how the foods they eat impact their blood sugar levels. The GI of glucose is 100. “High GI” values are between 70 and 100; “intermediate GI” values are between 55 and 69; and, “low GI” values are less than 55.

Getting Jacked on the Juice

Maria Row is a great friend down in Houston, TX. I asked her to share a bit of her Monavie Story with us. Here ya go.

I just want to share with you how I got Jacked On Juice.
Since 1999, my health has been affected greatly by compounding life/family/work stressors and had developed disorders associated with stress including insomnia, depression, panic attacks, acid reflux, spastic blatter, colon and stomach; and high blood pressure, to name a few. Oh yeah, and went thru Menopause at the same time! I was actually housebound for 3 years, fortunately was only able to go to work and be functional during that time. When it started to affect my organs I was fed up with being sick and knew I had to do something, starting with improving my sleep.

I was first introduced to Pulse, being advised that Pulse improves quality of sleep for some people, and I started sleeping better from day one! Pulse put me in such a deep sleep whenever I did sleep, that the quantity of sleep improved with time. I immediately signed up as a distributor, not knowing what antioxidants were, never heard of Acai, didn’t know how to pronounce it and didn’t care. All that mattered was that I was sleeping!

Then came Active. Yep, joint pain….. gone.
I was very excited when Monavie launched Reveal. Being that the stress blessed me with …shhhhh.. , I decided to try the program and have been on Reveal for a month now. I do not have the need to lose weight (5’6: 140 lbs) but I do have the need to rid the belly. Not only am I losing the belly where I am able to tuck in my blouses, I have also noticed a great improvement in my energy levels and have not had one adrenaline crash associated with my depression. I actually feel nourished, if that makes sense.
You know what people? I think I’m on to something here!

4 Crazy Weeks

Over the last 4 weeks my life has been very crazy.  I have spent 3 weeks in Quebec City, CA with 2 trips home and 1 trip to Orlando.  The last week I started traveling for my new job.  I was in Chicago, Indy, Minneapolis, and Fargo this past week.  Lots of planes and rental cars.

During this trip I was taken out to eat at some of the most amazing restaurants, plus taking clients out also.  I have had some great meals, all of which were over 600 calories, I can assure you.  I have done my best to have my shakes twice a day, and my bars twice a day, and my supplements twice a day.  Some days were impossible to do so, but over all I pursued the program as best I could.  I also had my gel packs with me and was able to have them twice a day.

One of the things that I did while I was in Quebec City was to go to the grand opening of the Ice Hotel.  Wow what a wonderful experience.  I was so neat to see this place.  The Ice carvings and all of what this place had was amazing.  It was so cold that my feet almost froze, but it was so cool.

I also got a wonderful tour of the old part of Quebec City.  This is a town that is one of the oldest in North America.  The city has a wall built around it.  I felt like I was in old Europe while we were driving and walking around.  I would suggest if you have never been that sometime in your life you take the time to go.

Well durring this 4 weeks of travel, I did not weigh.  I had a fear that I had gained back some of the weight that I had lost.  With all the great meals, I just knew that I was going to be backing up.  But the good news is that when I got on the scale yesterday, for the first time in 4 weeks, I had lost 1.8 more pounds.  I cannot tell you the thrill in my heart to see that.  I now know that I can maintain my weight for life.  I still have 60+ pounds to loose and I will get that accomplished over the next few months, but I know that when I am done, that I can still lead a normal life and not gain my weight back.  I thank the good Lord above for the RVL product.  I hope all of you that need to have less body mass learn the same thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trip to the RVL Launch in Orlando

1

This past weekend Monavie flew Karen and I to Orlando, FL for the RVL launch meeting.  It was an amazing experience.  We got there Friday afternoon, and were picked up by a wonderful gentleman in a pretty new Lincoln.  On the flight down there we met a very nice gentleman named Bill, that was coming from NY to the meeting.  He did not have a ride to the Hotel, so we invited him to ride with us.  Getting to know him was so nice.

We just chilled on Friday night and went over to Downtown Disney and looked around.  We had a great dinner at Shula’s Steak House.  (not sure we kept to the 600 calories)  Friday was the last day of my 12 week program with the RVL trial.  It had been a wonderful 12 weeks.  A total of 44 LBS lost.  I cannot tell you how good that feels.

Saturday we were invited to a luncheon with some of the Diamonds and the RVL Allstars.  What a nice time we had.  Scott Andersen, Dr. Bernie Landes, and several other Monavie folks where there also.  Dr. Landes spent some very nice time with us and talked about RVL and what it is all about.  It was so interesting to be sitting right there with him.  We were able to get a DVD with him talking about RVL that I hope to share with all of you at some point.

After the Luncheon we went into the meeting.  We were told that we had reserved seats, and I expected that we would be in the front section behind the Black Diamonds.  Well we were on the front row.  It was so wonderful.  Just as we walked up to the front, Dallin and Kari came out to sit down.  They stopped to chat with us and told us how proud they were of what we had done.  It was so nice to just stand there and chat.

The meeting started and there were several speakers.  They called everyone to the stage that had been on the Pre Launch trial.  We were up there with Nancy Morgan and the rest of the crowd.  Everyone told how much weight they had lost, and then everyone left the stage but our 3 couples.  Derek and Tammy Scott, Michael Moore and his beautiful wife, and Karen and me.  The first ran our short videos and then asked us to talk.  As all of you know I turned into a crybaby, but I did not do too bad.  What amazed me is that most everyone in that room gave us a standing ovation.  It was so amazing.

After the meeting we were somewhat like rock stars.  People walking up to us, asking for our autographs, and wanting to know more of our story.  I was such a privilege to share with all those folks.  Karen and I had a chance to meet and chat with Jeff Graham and his wife after the meeting also.  Jeff is such an amazing person.

After the meeting, Nancy and Larry Morgan picked us up and we went to Fultons Crab House for dinner.  I had told myself that when I was done with my 12 weeks that I was going to have a celebration meal, and I did.  It was great.  I will not tell you all that I ate, but lets just say it was sooooooooo good.

Sunday morning, I had to be in the lobby at 4:30 for my ride to the airport.  I left and headed back to Quebec City Canada.  Karen left later and headed back to Madison.  Her trip was not so smooth.  She had to change flights and ended up flying to Milwaukee and got picked up by Jennifer, our daughter.  Be we both got back to where we started before the end of the day.

I will tell you that I have been in Canada all week.  I have been sharing RVL with everyone that I can.  I am so excited to see just how many folks that I can share this with, and change their lives as much as my life has been changed.  If you would like to see our part of the meeting you can go to www.monaviebroadcast.com.  Go to the 2 hour and 26 minute point of the presentation.  That is where our part starts.  I would suggest if you want to know more about the RVL product that you watch the rest of the presentation.  Dr. Landis talks about the product and it is wonderful info.

Well I am headed home in the morning.  I will be in Madison for 48 hours and then back to Quebec City, Canada.  I will be home for good the end of next week.  I miss chatting with all of you, and will be available via phone next week if you need anything.

11 Weeks of work paying off

In the last 11 weeks I have come to know myself in many different ways.  I am beginning to feel like I am truly going to be slim.  I look in the mirror, and I don’t see a fat guy anymore, and I cannot tell you how exciting this is for me.  I just got off the tread mill in Quebec City, Canada after a 10 hour day.  Did I want to do that?  NO is did not, but I also know that if I am going to hit my goal I must do that!

Over the last few weeks I have had so many chearleaders.  I want to thank all of you for this, because you are part of what has kept me going.  I am now down 42 pounds.  I have another 70 to go, and I have no doubt that I will get there.

This Friday Karen and I are flying to Orlando, Florida to be at the RVL launch meeting.  I am so excited that we are going to be able to be there.  To know that maybe our story will inspire others to loose weight or to get healthier is what part of this journey is all about.  Everyone is so thrilled for me, but one of the real winners in the program is Karen.  She has lost 19 pounds.  When you consider the percentage of body weight,  she has done better than me.  I am so proud of her!!!!  I also know that I would not have done near as good on this without her being on the journey with me.   She wants to loose another 11 pounds and I know she will be done long before I am, but her support has been beyond belief.

I think what is the coolest is that we both know that we are going to live longer.  We also know that will be able to do things now that we would not have been able to do before because of my weight.  We are talking about skiing, and so many other things that I would never have imagined I could have done at 342 pounds.  Life is changing for the both of us, because of Monavie and RVL.  I thank the good Lord above that we were part of this.
